If you haven’t already, Create an Amazon Gift Registry!
After the rush of opening all those beautiful wedding gifts, it only takes a few moments before you realize how many thank you notes you must write.
And you must.
Did you hear you have a year to write them? Don’t believe it. How would you feel if you spent $150 on 2 crystal glasses for your pal and didn’t hear boo from her for a year?
Send notes within two weeks for gifts received before the big day, and within one month for gifts after the wedding (you get time off for your honeymoon).
Hopefully you have a neat little list of gifts and who gave them. Hopefully the list is detailed. Much better to say “thank you for the elegant Nambe serving platter” than “thank you for the plate”.
Get your cute new Mr. & Mrs. stationery, pour yourself a glass of wine, get comfy somewhere and write 5 notes a night for however many nights it takes. You’ll be glad you did. (If you had a very large wedding, maybe trade in the glass of wine for a cup of tea some of those nights 🙂

Wedding Thank You Note Samples
Dear Aunt May and Uncle John,
We were so excited to receive your gift the other day. The crystal vase is gorgeous, and just the right size for our dining room table. I’ve already filled it with lillies. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous gift.
We look forward to seeing you on our big day!
You know how much I like a good martini, and now I can have 8! Thank you for the beautiful set of cocktail glasses. They are stylish and fun and we can’t wait to throw a little party in their honor. As soon as we’re back from our honeymoon, you’ll have to help test out all the new bar recipes from the book you sent as well.
Can’t wait! Thanks again.
Dear Rachel and Tom,
Thank you so much for the Tiffany glasses. Those glasses were one of the first things Anthony and I registered for because we both loved them immediately. Now whenever we use them we will think of you! Thanks also for helping make our big day so special. It was wonderful to see you there.
Dear Lisa and Ted,
We’ve already used your stackable mixing bowls several times! They’re incredibly useful. I honestly don’t know what I’ve been doing without them. Thank you for the thoughtful and helpful gift.
Thanks also for sharing our wedding day. Having you there made it extra-special!
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sotherby,
That engraved platter you sent us is just beautiful. The platter itself is elegant and useful, but personalizing it with our wedding announcement makes it priceless. Thank you both for the unique and thoughtful gift. We love it!
Please send our best wishes to Candy and Don.

Dear Aunt Ruth,
Thank you for the major kitchen staple! The set of Wusthof knives, with block, makes our kitchen complete. I will finally be able to slice tomatoes like a pro, no squashing them. There is no limit to what I can cook now! Thank you so much!
I hope you had fun at the wedding reception. We loved seeing you out there dancing the hora!
You didn’t! I can’t believe you sent us a Cuisinart food processor. That is one of those kitchen tools I never thought I’d own. But thanks to you, I am now on my way to slicing and dicing and shredding all kinds of things. I can’t wait! Thank you so much for the very generous gift. We look forward to cooking something for you soon!
Dear Bea and Bill,
Thank you for the stunning punch bowl set! We are already planning parties around drinks one can serve from a punch bowl. Sangria, champagne punch, wassail… I even found a recipe for a punch bowl cake. I had no idea what I was missing! Thank you so much for the festive and elegant gift.
Please give our regards to Tommy.
Wedding Thank You for Bridal Shower from Co-Workers
Dear [Co-workers names],
I just had to tell you again what a wonderful shower you threw! I had the best time. You are all so wonderful to make my big day even more special by throwing a posh party at work. It meant the world to me.
And as if that weren’t enough, you all chipped in to present me with a far-too-generous gift. I don’t even know how to thank you for that. My fiancee and I will have a lot of fun deciding what to do with the gift card.
Thank you all so much. I won’t forget your kindness!
